Both brilliant and stupid, Roberts advertised on a rockhound website that the invaluable materials could be made available. ![]() Roberts' ambition was to be an astronaut on the first Mars landing, but failing that, he decided to steal moon rocks which many consider to be among the most precious materials on Earth. Katey is left behind witnessing a union that she knows is nothing but commercial on Eve's part. Eve has no love for Tinker, but with his guilt and thereby her leverage, she is the woman on his arm on the upper East Side and the Riviera. A horrible traffic accident where Tinker is at fault results in this beautiful young woman's disfiguration. The attraction between Tinker and Katey is stressed by the author, but Eve walks away with the prize. Katey is a pool secretary at a law firm so strict in its rules for women that it makes "Mad Men" look aggressively modern. They meet Tinker Grey, an uptown man who has stumbled out of his league. It falls short of " The Great Gatsby," but what book could match that? In 1937, Katey and friend Eve are off to the Hotspot, a Greenwich Village joint where the liquor fl ows. That the author is so infl uenced by one of America's greatest authors does the novel little harm. ![]() ![]() It's a wonderful taste of yesteryears, reminiscent in ways of F. ![]()
